No experience necessary! The only requirements are civic interest, willingness to learn and a little bit of time. Please consider running for public office.
Local government is not like TV News shows where elected officials position for notoriety by being the most forceful and inflexible. Local officials strive for consensus. They seek solutions. They work for the greater good. You could help with that!

Filings open on May 20 and close on June 3. If you are thinking about it at all you must act before the end of business on June 3. After that you cannot file; you can only be on the sidelines. By putting your hat in the ring, you can be part of the conversation, part of the leadership that makes a difference in the years to come for our community.
Running for elected office is not for everyone – but maybe it’s for you. And if it is not for you, encourage other smart, savvy people to consider running. A full slate of candidates makes for a lively debate of the issues giving the electorate the opportunity to choose the best candidates possible.
If you have questions about running for office you are urged to call the administrators of the jurisdiction. If you just want to talk it over with someone, give me a call. Remember filings close June 3.
